Lucy Goose Has In-Turned Feet - Can Anyone Help?
« on: August 28, 2010, 13:15 »
We have just got two young Embden goslings who we halieve are undernourished, under fed and under developed.  The guy who gave us them swore they are about 13 weeks but they are not even half the size of our own, Sam,who is of the same breed at 3.2kg (but probably overweight) is only seven weeks this coming Monday.  Sam was lonely so we looked about for some companions.  One of the goslings, who we have called Lucy has in-turned feet and keeps tripping over them.  She (we're guessing here due to size) is the smallest of the pair, and very sad looking.  Can you help - is there anything that can be done to correct the position of her feet?  I can send photos to anyone who wants to see. I'm afraid I have no constructive advice myself.  I just wanted to say welcome to the forum and good luck  :).  There are lots of good experienced people here and I am sure someone will be able to advise you.

Normally any foot defects are treated in the first few days so doubt that there is much you can do. Perhaps you could take her to a vets to see if her leg is still pliable enough to be put into a splint to straighten it out?
Staffies are softer than you think.
