Hi Chuckmad, sorry been out today, so only just caught up!

You could keep them in a section of the garage, but you need to make a round or oval brooder ring 2ft high preferably about 6ft across so they can run around once they get a little bigger.

We never put our meat chickens in with our layers as they'd scoff all the food, and layers eat layers mash or pellets, meat chickens are on growers or rearer once they come off of chick crumb until 2 weeks before culling, and boy do they eat!  :D

They have to have food available 24/7

Also once they get bigger, they probably wouldn't be able to manage a ladder!  Hope this helps?

Thanks GrannieAnnie, definitely have a better picture of it now.  Could I cordon of a section of the run for the meat birds and Can I build a suitable hut that I just place on the ground.
