egg shells

hi all... just a quick question has anyone used eggshells in there plant pots and if so what pros and cons does it have many thanx fellow gardeners im still learning :)

We use oven dried/crisped then crushed eggshells around plants in pots/planters and in the growing beds against slugs and snails. They definitely do act as a deterrent to a degree.

(Then you go down to the shore and watch a snail sliding over the dry sand.  ??? Go figure!)

Wouldn't have thought they'd help much.

Egg shell's are quite insoluble.

they are good for chickens as a form of calcium, but they will have their gastric juices to dissolve them, without this then not too sure they would work.
