This is my first posting.
I purchased 3 black rocks from an official breeder around 10 weeks ago.
They have arrived onto a third of an acre of varied flowers and greenery which they abuse...
After 27 weeks I am keen to get an egg, (not unreasonable) I went away this weekend and had to lock up my girls into there generous coup and run. I was rewarded with 2 lovely eggs. As these were cold I realised that I was still due another today, I let the girls out and Gregory then hopped over our back wall into the field and wondered into the undergrowth. I followed with a hand full of grain. She was sat quiet, I picked her up to find her sitting on 7 eggs!!! she has been laying all week!!!!! I feel let down somehow..
I placed her in the coop and she laid her egg there, I have taken no chances with the other eggs i found in the field and destroyed them. hopefully Dorothy will join her soon and start laying.
