Soft Fruit - maggots
« on: July 27, 2010, 22:23 »
Hi

Can anyone help me please.  I have a beautiful loganberry on the plot and it is supplying it's first real fruit this year however many of them have maggots in them, same happened with the backberries last year.

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this - I realise that I am probably far too late for this year but is there anything that I need to do for next.

Any help would be really appreciated the loganberry has so much fruit and yet it feels like such a waste.

Cheers

sounds like codling moths , they lay eggs when fruit trees and bushes are in flower ,

spray with bug off or other pest control
