Hi, I'm not too clued up on Onions, but are there any types of fast growing onion set that I can start now and get a decent size of onion?

You are too late for an onion crop this year.
It'll soon be time for some of us to be starting to sow next years onions.

I thought there was some fast growing variety that could be sown around now? I'm sure one of the guys on my site said he grew them every year... :(

Maybe he was talking about spring onions or japanese onions that are out over the winter|?

mmmm no.... I have my Japanese onions on order to put out in September... so it's not those :unsure:

I think you are looking for something like White Lisbon or Ramrod spring onion. You can sow that now or get the winter hardy type of White Lisbon which can be sown in October.
