My girls have a huge garden to roam in but it seems the grass is always greener on the other side! My daughter came rushing in yesterday evening screaming that one of the chicks, (now 14 wks old), had cleared our 6 ft fence into next door's garden. I've never seen my family galvanised into action so quick, and it took us a frantic 10 minutes to round the b****r up. I guess I'll be doing some wing clipping today which should be interesting as I've never needed to do it with my little fat older girls.

Well, I put them in the older girl's run which is over 6ft high but no roof (and is usually left open so they can free range), while I did the school run. Came back to find them loose in the garden again I have now clipped their wings despite their loud protests, so we shall have to see if that does the trick.

Still you can always tie a brick to one foot. (keeps them off -balance.)
