Weed climbing Munty Frame?
« on: July 19, 2010, 22:48 »
Was admiring how quickly some of my french cobra beans were climbing when i noticed the leaves of some were more arrow shaped than love heart.  Then noticed the stem of some were darker than the really green bean stems, and also a bit more spindly.  Cant take photo as phone playing up.  Im pretty sure these are weeds, but cant find anything on 'net.  Any ideas?

If they are a weed, I reckon I need about a day to untwine them all as the beans have overlapped.  Its like a rope!  ::)

If it is a weed, simply (!) locate its stem near the ground and snip it there.  The leaves higher up will then just die off.

But be sure not to accidentally kill the bean instead
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Yup thats it!  Thx - 30 sec response, gotta be some kind of record, even for here.  Or a stupid question  ::)

Apparently its a laxative, so just as well I checked!

Yea, will snip at base.  might still try to unwind as i already have probably too many beans growing.

Cheers

To kill it completely, unwind the bindweed and put it in a jam jar wiith Glyphosate. Cover the jam jar and in time the weedkiller will completely kill the bindweed down to the roots. If you snip it ,it will come back stronger.

Friend of mums was proudly showing off her mystery plant the other day, with pretty heart shaped leaves, and white flowers, and being very proud of it.....

She was quite upset to realise she had a tending a bindweed plant carefully!!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....
