Everyone knows the best way to eat broad beans is with a nice slab of gammon, some new spuds, a few fresh peas and a dollop of butter.   :tongue2:

I can see you were brought up proper.  No messin'. ::) ::) ::)

Its got to be in a risotto, or my fave is tagliatelle, chard / spinach, BBs and mascaropone & cream  :tongue2:

Or a light snack / tapas:  gently fried with chorizo, served with crusty home baked bread.  Slurp...

My favourite veg.
I stand in the garden shelling and eating - two for me one for the little fat dog.
The other two dogs won't touch  'em. We cook the small pods and eat them whole.
We eat all we can and freeze the rest raw. You can pop them in a warm oven and dry them  - makes nice snack things.
Of course ours are just shooting up, we have a long wait for crops.

I wish I'd grown them this year :(  Still there's always next year but my wish list is getting so long, I think I might need to move to get a bigger garden! :)

You don't need masses of room for a few sweetcorn plants, we've got about 20 plants in a patch the size of a single bed (no good at measurements) and they are looking good. :D :D :D.  If you're that strapped for ground try them between something else or plant something between them.

Yes I'm glad I'm not alone in being a tad envious, it's broad beans and p.s.b. that make me jealous though. I'm already trying to plan for next year and have plans to double the size of my growing space, I would treble it but my sons will seriously huff if I use up the BBQ and seating area, as tempted as I am I couldn't face the wrath of 3 stroppy BBQ loving boys!
