Help! Ive a fan trained apple, james grieve growing in a large pot, when and how do i prune it to keep its shape and when is the best time to move it to a bigger pot? Also any advice in feeding would be great, Hope someone can help.

Sorry no one has replied, maybe we don't have an apple tree expert on here.

I'm no expert, but have found this by the RHS on summer pruning of trained fruit trees, which seems to fit the bill....

As for re-potting, my gut instinct say late autumn/early winter, when the tree has done all it's going to do and is dormant.

                           just read in fruit book ,repot tree in february ,feed with high potash feed at 2 week intervals from blossom time to shortly before harvest.hope that helps a bit.
