Hi I have just had my first ever 5 chicks hatch this mornin, they were under a broody hen, I had another hen go broody 2 weeks ago so I gave her one of the eggs this mornin, which hatched and she is lookin after, can I put both hens with all the new chicks in one pen or should I still keep them seperate until chicks are a few weeks old and introduce them then,

My broody hatched her chicks almost 3 weeks ago and she decided what was best for them, regardless of what the books/experts say  . They have mixed with the big girls from day 1 and realise that they are bottom of the order already. She has even taken them into the main coop after 2 weeks, ignoring the maternity ward we had prepared, and has been sleeping in there with them ever since. Mama knows best
