Can anyone tell me what to do with this plant in the summer, should I trim it back or just leave it. It is in a very large terracotta pot in between my hostas and at the moment it looks brown and very sad. Does it seed it self?

I cut mine back when the flowers are fading, that keeps the plants nice and bushy rather than a lot of trailing bare stems with flowers at the bottom. It will flower again next year on the growth it makes this summer
Go for it , give it a hair cut
