can i scalp my aubergine?

hi everyone,can i snip some of the leaves off my aubergine?the leaves are very broad and  the plant is very bushy and hiding all the fruits(all two of them)but there are flowers aswell.dosnt the sun need to get to them?will it harm the plant if i trim off some leaves?

IMO you need the leaves to make the food to fatten the fruits.
The sun doesn't need to get to them, all they would like is some warmth  :)

Mum has got it spot on, you need the leaves on to produce energy for the plant to grow the fruit, and, like tomatoes, the aubergines need warmth to ripen, not light. :D
