MY cuecumber plant and the mole
« on: June 16, 2007, 10:03 »
The rotten mole has killed my cuecumber plant- it had a baby growing on it too.         I went to show it to my pal and it was laying there dead with a mole hill beside it.  The mole has made a few mole hills across the garden, I actually ´went down´about 6" in the soill as I was walking across the garden where the mole had excavated his tunnels!
Hubby is on holiday in Scotland at the moment and is looking out for mole traps for me. Shame his Grandpa isn´t still alive, he was a game keeper for Sir Alex Douglas Home and was a champion mole catcher :(

So that's the guy I didn't recognise in the pub last night

Where is he Pamela?  Tell him to pop in for a cuppa tea if he is in my neck of the woods.

Yeah, Aberlour is about 20 minutes away.

Lanark is a bit further away though - about 3 hours.   Have you ever visited New Lanark World Heritage Site?  Absolutely fantastic place and an enthralling story of Robert Owen.  See http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/lanark/newlanark/ or http://www.newlanark.org/

New Lanark is really interesting, and the views are wonderful of the falls of Lanark. If you are down that way go to the garden centres along the Clyde Valley, There is one, think it is called SandyHolm and they have a wonderful cafe there, all homemade produce, their soups are just great.  The garden centre not bad either :D
