High my autumn raspberries, which i planted this year are shooting well but seem to be producing fruit allready. They were about 6in when I planted them, should I have pruned them more. Will they carry on producing into the autumn.

The live canes (usually only one) on bought raspberries will shoot and flower earlier than you might expect; what should also happen is that they will produce new canes to fruit later in the year (but don't expect too much in their first year.)

Either way, cut them down nearly to the ground in late autumn and normal service will be resumed next year!

Ive planted lots of fruit this winter and wasn't expecting anything much this year, so it is a pleasant surprise just to have a taste so soon.
