The net is not on yet. There won't be a problem until they start ripening. Fruit is forming nicely.

I have to disagree here. I have just been into the garden and found TWO unripe green strawberries (no red on at all) half eaten by birds!  :(

It's only the blackbirds I have problems with. Pigeons don't touch them fortunately and the blackbirds only like the ripe ones.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Haven't found the culprit yet! I have the netting but am looking after 11 month old grandson today so no chance of doing anything till tomorrow. Think I will have to hide the pots of strawberries and hope for the best for the others!
