can egg peritonitis be cured?
« on: September 11, 2010, 07:55 »
Hi
we had to have one of our ex bats put down on wednesday due to a severe prolapse.  Now I have one who has laid a soft egg and half the shell was still inside her.  I've had this happen before with no ill effects, but am rather paranoid at the moment that I;m about to lose another....
I have pulled the reminaing shell out, and plan to give her a warm bath in the next half an hour. Will keep an eye on her and take her to the vets if she seems off colour - but my question is whether if she does develop peritonitis, can anything be done by the vet?
