I'm so excited but also nervous, I go this morning to sign the contract,  (oh and more importantly to take photos!)

It's 100 sq metres, not massive I know but enough for me (she says) it's good soil just stoney, no weeds at all (well maybe one or two). There's a river runs by and a water well next to mine too.

I can  keep chickens/rabbits/ducks on it,  oh and there's  a paddock being built for rescue horses in the centre of the allotments too.  :D

Blimey, where have you been?

Congrats on the plot, what you do next depends on the state of the ground and how much clearing you've got to do. Not too late to start a few beans, salad stuff, Autumn King carrots, scrounge leeks, brassica plants etc.

Soon be time to start off spring cabbage for next year!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Well you see, you taught me all I needed to know last year...  :tongue2:

I was thinking it might be a little late for some stuff, but seeing as there's not a lot to do apart from clearing the stones I'm going to buy some ready grown stuff and bung them in  :D

It's never too late for food  :D  That's what it's for after all.

I think sometimes the food growing element plays second fiddle to all the work of clearing and weedkilling, rotovating and all that carry on.  Some guys on our site actually are not interested in the veg at all but just like to use weedkiller and play with big machines  :nowink:

I'm not suggesting you're like that though  :D

Good luck with it, and remember to have FUN  :)

Beans are a good start - runners or french, you can pick up plants or sow them direct this time  of year

Congratulations.  Wondered where you'd been.  Plot sounds great.

Not too late for beans and cucurbits from seed.  Buy in other plants as you say and you're off!

I'm off buying some plant today GreenOwl (spending is what I do best)   ;)

Aidy it's near Culcheth, 78 plots, privately owned and the chap lives next door to it.  It only opened in April so everyone's new and friendly with each other.

Pauls starting digging/weeding it on Saturday but unfortunatly I have to go to London for the day shopping,  :(.............. :D :D :D :D :D

I'm having trouble up-loading a photo here Aidy, but it's on my Facebook page.
