Help Identify Brassica plant
« on: May 22, 2010, 14:38 »
Hi there

After a greenhouse disaster a couple of months ago (it collapsed in the winds) I lost a lot of my spouting veg, however I kept what I could (not too much). Unfortunately a lot of the ID plant tags thiniies got mixed up/ thrown out their pots too so I was left with a load of sporuting plants that I have had to kind of guess what they were as they grew.....anyway, I was sure that teh plant in the picture was a cabbage of some sort, so planted it with my other brassicas (first time I have doen brassicas ever) onyl to discover thst instead of it bushing out/ growing like I imagine a cabbage might, it has shot up from the middle, rather like some sort of brussel sprout thing. It has doen this in one week too, so now I am confused as to what the plant actually is and that it might be groing too fast........
any advice greatfully recieved.......Iwownder what teh other plants I planted are too now, as I thought THEY were the brussel sprouts......

What ever it is, looks like it's bolting.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
