Do blue tomatoes carry on growing
« on: May 18, 2010, 22:31 »
My outdoor toms (under cloches) have all gone really blue (due to the recent really cold patch). I have sufficient extras in the cold frame (which haven't gone blue) to replace them if required.

From experience do blue toms recover and go on to crop, or would I do better by replanting them now?

Last year mine were OK but a bit delayed. So plant some more but the old stagers will give you a good crop eventually.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

My Tumbling Toms are blue too. They hadn't grown at all although there were healthy flowers still there from before the cold snap. It was like they were in suspended animation.
Now the warmth has arrived they are definitely growing again! Phew!
Freecycled all my spares!!!
