My neighbour informed me this morning about a friend who had 7 full size hens stolen while she was on holiday. Her Eglu cube was empty when her neighbour went to open the pop hole early in the morning.
Why does a theif steal older laying hens? Is there a market for them, for heaven's sake?
As it was local to me I am being vigilant. It's not foxes I'm worried about now!!!

I'm amazed they didn't steal the eglu too! They are expensive.

me too but as it was a cube I don't think 1 person on their own could move it (unless it had the wheels on). Resale of these is so easy there are lots on ebay and they all fetch good money.
