Please can anyone help?  I found a full tin of Castrol lm grease in the back of the shed but I just can not make out the writing on the back of the tin it must be year’s old will it be still ok to use or not and what for rotavator mower ect

That sounds like standard low melting-point grease as used for lubricating wheel-bearings, steering and suspension components etc of cars when they used to have the provision to wield a grease-gun on them (ah, nostalgia!)

As long as the lid was on and it's not got dirt in it and is not showing obvious signs of deterioration it should be fine, although unless the manuals for your equipment suggest a requirement for greasing I don't think there is much use for it (don't use it as a substitute for oil; it hasn't got the same penetration and also attracts dirt; not good!)

a site i was on say's the grease used on kango's is as below
The lubricant that was used in models 500, 501, 637, 638, 900 and 950 was manufactured by Mobil. The product was idendify as Mobilplex 47. do there still make it my kango is working the grease in it look's dark eg black will it be right as the kango is year's old or doe's grease change color after year's
