can someone please give me some top tips for growing rhubarb.
I planted seeds last year, and had some growth earlier this year...but is disappeared after a bit, it keeps trying, but not succeeding.  A friend told me it doesn't like sun, but I don't have an area in the plot that is shaded....would this be right, do I need a shaded spot?

Top dress with well rotted down manure and then mulch over the top with bark chippings.   Plenty of water but avoid the crown.

I don't think you need a shady spot - although it seems to tolerate a bit of shade.

never known anyone to grow it from seed most folks just divide the crown,

i grew some plants from Kings  seed but all they seem to want to do is flower (Very pretty) and not produce much rhubarb. The  the ones that come from crown division that my friends gave me are thriving . there in full sun and have produced loads of very large stalks yummy.
