I got given an orchid when I moved house in March 2 years ago and each year since then, it has flowered in March so that might be an option for you.

So sorry about your cat pawsnclaws.  The pain on the loss of a loved pet is terrible.

You must do what makes you feel better but if it were me i would just go for the photo.  If the plant gets sick or dies its just a double whammy.  Or grow some catmint and put a little vase of that when its in flower  by your photo. Just my opinion.

So sorry to hear of your loss. When we had our first cat put down, I was sure I could  hear her coming down the stairs for months afterwards. They really stamp a paw on your heart.

How about planting a spring flowering plant in your garden to remember her by. In my experience they are easier to look after and last longer, but then I've never been very good with houseplants.
