I had one sprout plant left and the remaining sprouts had put out leafy shoots with small florets on top. They looked too good to go to waste so we ate them. Very nice! Some of my kale plants have done the same and their shoots are also quite tasty.

I might even try growing a few extra plants next year and leaving them to go over so that we can extend the picking season and have more.

Has anyone else done this?

I ve done something similar with cabbages,carefully cut the heart away,dont pull the plant up,and small cabbagelets will form ,as the plant tries to compensate,a bit cruel but thats nature
