Am I on the right track/what next!
« on: April 12, 2010, 20:52 »
Hi everyone, I had my plot rotovated and I know alot of people will say this is a bad thing but just wanted to check with the more experience if I;m doing the right thing or wasting my time! I;ve started to firstly rake off any uprooted weeds and grass and then marked out several beds and dug them over to try and remove anything that had been turned over as I didnt want them to sprout back up in a few weeks time. Ive then covered the [path] areas with woodchip to try and inhibit weeds. Is this ok or am I best to just mark out beds and get weeds early when they arise?
Many thanks for reading this!

if you have no docks dandelions or couch grass you should be fine and save a load of digI ging but if you have couch grass you will have a nice field in about 2 weeks.

Thanks Janette. I'm not sure about the couch grass it just looks like normal grass as roots short? but there are a few dandelions! So I guess I best carry on with the digging!
Thanks for replying

When digging remove roots and stones on every turn of the fork, if you have an empty bed tun it when weed starts to come through and remove roots, its going to be a long game that you wont win only control.
Thanks
