Which chainsaw
« on: June 29, 2010, 21:57 »
Hi

I had a very nice stihl ms180 I bought off ebay in as new condtion about 3 years ago for only £70.  But I had it stolen a few weeks back.

I would love another stihl, but no luck in getting the bargin I had before, so can anyone recomend a saw from upto about £150

I only use it for cutting up pallets, scaffold boards and other scrap for fire wood.

THanks

Can't beat a Stihl, but I believe Husqvarna are a close second.

I use an electric power saw for boards and pallets and any old wood due to nails. saw blades are a lot cheaper than chainsaw blades

Which one do you use?

I ruined my electric chainsaw by using it on old wood and pallets. The electric saw I bought just rattles me to the bone and is useless. I end up just using a hand saw and wearing myself out.

Not an electric chain saw but a hand power saw.
i use a chainsaw for logs. I use a small Stihl, had it over 12years with lots of use.
Never broke down. (What am I saying! Cross fingers)

Oh I see. I use a cheap chinese power saw seven and a quarter blade.
I restrain? the guard or it wont work. But I have been doing it for donkeys and am EXTREMELY CAREFUL.
