being new to this whole grow your own life, i was wondering what veg's are best to stagger sewing with. is it just a case of all to prolong the harvest time or are alot of veg fine to just leave in in the ground growing. i seem to remember my dad's planting seemed either feast or famine.

It's all about how long each crop takes to reach maturity in the UK (and also how much of it you want to eat!)

Obviously there is very little scope to successionally sow crops which take nearly all the growing season to mature (sweetcorn, runner beans, parsnips and many others), but those which only take weeks (salad leaves, radish, peas, to name but three) can easily be grown two or three times in small quantities to keep you supplied for a long period.
