leggy runner beans
« on: March 20, 2010, 07:46 »
In my eagerness to get started(never had an allotment before)I think I have really messed up!planted loads of seeds too early I think and they will all be ready to go in soon.Marrows, courgettes, runner beans etc.Is frost the main worry when planting too early?also,my runner beans are reaching for the light and have a very long stem with only one set of leaves at the top,any advice?thanks

Flump i got stick of the old buy's last year as my runners went is on the 29th April if you can pot them on up to there necks and try and save them.  Or put them in and cover with fleece and bubble wrap if there is chance of frost.  You have learned and you wont make the same mistake again.  Good luck in your first year.
Thanks
Kris
