Hemcore Depth
« on: March 24, 2010, 20:18 »
Hi
I am soon to be new to hen keeping and am wondering what depth of Hemcore to use in the coop and also is it OK to use it in nest boxes or is straw better?. Decide to use Hemcore after reading several threads.

Thanks in advance.

hi, we started off using straw but changed to hemcore about a month ago. Its so much easier. We put about two inches down. We put it everywhere including where they sleep. they lay their eggs in a seperate box from where they sleep and i put straw in there. dont know why, its just something i do. they are laying well so i think, why change it? hope this helps
