my daughter asked me if you can grow root ginger in this country and i have to say i didn't know, i have just googled it and it seems you can in a greenhouse, has anyone tried?

the same with peanuts (but this time it was the peanut butter i just had on my toast that made me think!), i have just found a radio 4 artical where a lady planted a peanut from her bird table and it grew 6 more peanuts, has anybody tried this and if so did you use any sort of peanuts or buy special seed?

Check the height!  Some varieties can grow to 6 metres.

I planted some sprouting ginger around Feb/March but nothing has happened.  The weather did turn very wet though, so maybe that killed it off. :(

i've grown ginger - spectacular plant - can be grown outdoors in summer -but bring in for winter - they can get quite big though - the last one i grew was from a shoot from a root.

i'm sure they grew some in the gardeners world garden - try looking on their site for tips.

Don't plant the roasted ones ...

Raw peanuts should grow but as to the crop you'd get ....

They are a legume so are great for the soil.   I've dug them up (in Mexico) and eaten them fresh but don't know anything about growing them.
