« on: March 14, 2010, 00:50 »
Hi Im thinking of donating a corner of my garden to growing veg, i wondered do i just turn grass over or do i need to remove it. I cant bring in extra soil so i cant have a raised bed.

Hi Geoff, I cut turfs of mine square and turned it over so it died off, but you could also put them elsewhere!

If time was on your side, then I'd suggest turning it over and leaving but I guess you want to grow this season? If so, skim off and pile it up turf side down in a disused corner covered in black plastic. In a year or so you'll have a lovely rich loam to use  8)
