My friend phoned yesterday to tell me his hen laid its first egg since the incident
Result

Its good to report something positive for a change

We thought that she may have finished laying after the egg breaking inside her

I fear this has happened to me girl again  She's been very off colour today. I picked her up very gently but she cried out bless her. I was warned it could happen again but I didn't think it would be so soon

I'm keeping an eye on her and this afternoon she'll get a warm bath to see if that will help lay the egg. I have got the builders in doing the kitchen so water is off and all the doors are open so it's freezing. Best off where she is at the moment    She looks very hunched up but at least there's no evidence of a cracked egg inside which is what she suffered last time
