It is best to only add manure where you are going to grow potatoes or beans TBH  :D -- it is best to avoid fresh manure for root crops as they t end to fork

Most of us add fresher mucks in the fall so it has the winter to break down. You don't state how fresh/old yours is so its hard to tell you a breakdown time.

As for too much muck? I never used to think too much existed until last year when I found myself lost in 6 ft tall cosmos (they're not supposed to grow beyond 4 ft) and 4 foot tall borage plants with 1-1/2" thick stalks. Bees loved them but they hogged the sun in the veg bed so I had to tear them out. The parsnips had 2 foot long roots with additional 2 foot tails. hard to believe in clay soil with hardpan below but it happened. I wouldn't have put any on this fall but my neighbour dropped off a free manure spreader load of chicken muck for me. The smell was curling nose hairs so I had no choice but to add it to the veg beds, to the orchard and fruit beds and I still had plenty left  ::)
