actively start growing again now or in the spring? just wondering how much time i have to clear whats there before they satrt comint again

It depends on the weed.   One of the first to show are stinging nettles.  Annual seed weeds do not usually germinate much until well into May, while the dreaded bindweed is a late riser and does not appear until  you think you have got the patch licked into shape.

it is horrible stuff i have it on the allotment and in my fron gargen we did spray in it the garden last year and it died but too blumming ages

For most weeds, things start happening when the ground gets to between 4 - 6 degrees centigrade, then it's time to hoe hoe hoe!

nar think i will pull, pull, pull this year start as i mean to go on i need the excersize lol i have decided i am going to mark out a bit every time i go and clear just that bit then it will soon get cleared i look at it as a whole plot and start to panic lol

I already have the stuff called cleavers - aka - goosegrass - aka - sticky treacle - germinating in a lovely pile of woody shreddings and on an area of rough grass I have - OH NO!!!

The nettles have already started here. We were clearing away some of the weeds and there was just a carpet of nettle seedling coming through, need a good dose of weedol for that lot!

I dead headed my first dandelions yesterday.
