Grew my strawberry plant runners on in pots from last season,  is it time to plant out yet? I live in devon so we usualy get the climate a little bit milder here.  SOMETIMES,! blooming cold this mornin on the plot.

You should have cut the leaves back after they had finished fruiting last year.
I forgot to do mine the previouse year, just left them well alone, you get bushier plants with a little less fruit thats all.

I don`t think the dead leaves provide any frost protection so i go on the principle they can only harbour pests and diseases . If its not green and helping the plant off it comes.................or it will when the weather warms up a bit. :)
