Newbie here, i have recently planted onion sets which start sprouting and garlic, raspberrie, strawberrie, rhubarb, apple, pear and plum trees. How will they fair in this crazy climate? Will they survive all do you experience think?

I would hope so although I can't guarantee it as I am limited with experience myself.  I have grown onions and garlic over winter before though and, although I lost a few sets to the wet weather last year, the vast majority were fine.  Having said that it wasn't quite this cold for quite this long!

Only one that may have problems are the strawberries. But I suspect these will be OK, or at least the majority.

Onion, garlic, raspberries, rhubarb, apple, pear and plum should be fine.
The problem with saying all will be OK is that any that look OK but are weak may not make it. Healthy ones should make it.

The snow can actually protect plants like onions and garlic from the hard frosts which do much more damage.
Fruit tree`s can be vunerable in the first winter if the roots haven`t settled in properly. I did fleece the apple tree i put in late last year and it kept the few leaves it had through all the frost and snow.

In theory they should all the OK, safe and snug under the snow. Thaye are all pretty tough 

If there are onions set losses you can always plant some more when things dry out/warm up a bit
