Do I plant all my potatoes at the same time i.e. first, second earlies, early main crop and maincrop? Do I plant them all in mid march ish and they all grow at different rates or do I wait a couple of weeks between each sort? I'm looking at the following varieties if that makes a difference:

1st Earlies - Rocket
2nd Earlies - Kestrel
Early main crop - Maris piper
Maincrop - King Edward.

Also whats second cropping - is that putting potatoes in again after you've harvested your earlies?

....and finally - when preparing the soil do I dig in fish,blood and bone (or similar) or just leave it on the top or cover it slightly before adding the potatoes? I haven't manured the bed unfortunately.

you put them in all at the same time, each variety takes longer to mature but u the later ones produce more potatoes.
put fish bloodetc in the soil and rake or water it in at the time of planting.
mid march isnt set in stone btw it depends on the weather, if its too wet or cold or both ur best off waiting a bit longer.

and it doesn't matter if they don't go in at exactly the same time .
Just work your way through from the firsts on through to the maincrop, as the weather allows and you have the time.
