anyone have an opinion on potting compost for it? soil or multi purpose ? i'm putting it in a half barrel.

I'd go for a soil based compost - John Innes No. 2 mixed with a bit of multi-purpose to lighten it up.

Bear in mind this will be a field grown tree that's just been lifted so will need a lot of TLC to get it established.

Get a bag of Westland multi purpose with added John Innes no 3.

hi thanks for the advice,just read an article in the news of the world on Christmas trees.they recommend JInnes no 3 so i'll give it a go.
