Our hens are digging huge holes- one is so deep the hen is lost in the bottom.  The path down through the trees to next doors garden is booby trapped, can´t go down there at night now without a torch and taking tiny steps :shock:
I know what they are after- the rotting oranges hubby buries-  he puts them in a deep hole, I guess the hens ´smell them out´  as they rot down.
Have any of you read the childrens book HOLES- I think of that book as I walk down the garden

They're making dust baths, nothing to do with oranges but I love the idea
