Why would it be any different from growing the normal carrots :?:

Celtbhoy - I presume you mean the shorter, round varieties or the chantenay types.

I think the difference in growing these is that they might do better in heavier soils as they will not have to  struggle to grow to the same depths as traditional carrots. Traditional carrots prefer a soft, sandy soil which is easy for them to push down into as they grow.  

These alternative varieties give those with heavier soils the opportunity for success in carrot growing!
