:) I put spades full of fallen leaves in the run today, and they absolutely loved it, spent ages rooting through them and scattering them about :)

I put my girls on the compost heap, they love to kick around on it, so many bugs and worms is a real treat.  They jump off when they have had enough.  Tried this in the summer too, only forgot the heap gets hot then oops, when I saw the steam rising had to drag them off it quick  8)

my compost bin is placed in the far corner of the chicken run..Every now and again they manage to pull the front off and crate havoc.  Once they managed to just dislodge the front slightly.  I wondered why the egs had suddenly stopped and then opened the lid to find that they'd worked their way to the top and laid about 20 eggs beween them!
