What is AVC?
« on: October 22, 2009, 13:24 »
Hi, have been reading some of the posts here and keep seeing that AVC is added to drinking water a lot. Have searched the suppliers websites but keep coming up blank. Can someone tell me what AVC is and what it does and where I can get it from?

Ooooo - hang on  I know this one.

You mean ACV, I think - Apple Cider Vinegar!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Absolutely right Dave :D

You must make sure to get the one from the horsey supplies shop though as it is unrefined and contans tannins which is the bit that is good for the chooks digestive system !

(When you getting your hens Dave ? ;) )

Hey,

When you say unrefined do you mean it has bits in it or just that it hasn't been graded for food use.  Cause I bought some from our local equstrien (sp) shop today and when I said the one with bits in she looked at me all funny, I bought one anyway cause I wasn't happy using the asda bought one, but it was definatley for the horse, so that right, right?

It's starting to sound like orange juice. Smooth or with bits in  ???

My horsey one doesn't have bits in.

It should come with "mother" which is a sediment from the fermentation.

Not sure my mother would like to be called sediment ....

It such good stuff I bought some for myself  :)

As well as being good for chooks it's good for humans. I got mine from Ostlers and it does contain the "mother"
