They just hit the side of the pot and have no option but to go upwards!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

The pots are, as I was advised, about 24" depth and width.  I will measure exactly tommorrow.  Think I was told at least 18" depth and width.  Don't know why the depth, as I thought, they were shallow rooted.  I only planted last November so may have problems later don't know yet.  I put 3 canes in each pot.  They are as I said Autumn Bliss.  Can't remember why but they are the ones I was told that would be best suited to pots.  I think it was because they are sturdy canes that need no support.

Yes I have read they like acid soil and one of my gardening mags said to use azelia rhodendrum (sp) feed for them and infact blueberries.  As for the yield as I said only planted last November but I had some in the summer as I said in my post and 5 or 6 a day now.

That's quite a fair-sized pot  :D
I've never seen em growing in pots, but why not (if you haven't got room in garden) . . .

Roots must be kept cool and well mulched (and fed ! )  :)

I've got Polka (an Autumn Bliss hybrid) and was surprised how well they did in soil close to a big fir tree. Now I know!!! Thanks! :D

I've got a funny shape garden Tode as its a detached bungalow on a corner, so although there is a lot of garden it goes all around but not very deeply.  Also the best area has established shrubs in them packed in tight.  All the other bits of space are taken up.  I've got one cane in a very much smaller pot and that is fruiting.  It was the odd one out of 10.  Three large pots cheap from a cheap shop and one 12" pot.

Oh and just a reminder this is Autumn Bliss as far as I have read summer ones will not do well in a pot as they grow different, like how can I put it all over the place.

Why not ?  Sounds OK.  And even a few handfuls of raspberries is better than no raspberries at all   :D
Good luck.

It's the other way round with mine.

It's serious cull time for the Autumn Bliss this year!

DD, have you evever noticed raspberry seedlings in your patch?  I presume that raspberries are fertile ?    Just wondering,  'cos every year I get a few young thorny blackberries coming up round my thornless blackberries.

I get raspberries popping up all over the place.... one is now attempting to make its way up my bean-frame...

I'm not sure if they have developed from the roots of other raspberries or from seed but I have dug them up and stuck them where I wanted them.... and eventually picked the fruit!
