Feeding marrows
« on: June 21, 2009, 23:34 »
My OH is having a marrow comp with his best mate who has 3 beds on my plot.  We have a head start as his hasnt even germinated yet, whereas my OHs are in the bed and growing lovely after 2 weeks

I think Ive asked this before, and maybe sunshineband answered but I cant find the thread

In the interests of healthy competition, how/what is best to feed to kick his butt?  :D
"I think the carrot infinitely more fascinating than the geranium. The carrot has mystery. Flowers are essentially tarts. Prostitutes for the bees. There is, you'll agree, a certain je ne sais quoi oh so very special about a firm young carrot" Withnail and I

I just mulch mine with old manure and water regularly (if there's little rain) and that gives me more baseball bats than I can use.

Comfrey tea and compost mulch.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
