congrats, brilliant isn't it? definitely boiled for this one; there's nothing nicer than an egg from your own hens with toast

Nice opening for a daft question.

What is the best way to boil an egg for the perfect egg? I like mine with a runny yolk but frim white.

My OH likes his yolk soft, but he doesn't mind a bit of soft in his white either, but he likes his done like this.

Put eggs into cold water, bring to boil and then simmer for one minute.  Whereas I like mine as you do, not soft yucky white!!!  So I leave mine in until he has his, then mine are usually just right.

The only thing is, a lot depends on the egg as well I think.  With these ex-battery hens we've got, because they are older, they lay larger eggs and many of them have watery whites which take longer to set!  so perhaps an older egg which also might have a watery white wold be the same???
