Getting my hens Mid may

Ok I am skint but am getting my hens from my auntie who is moving away and will not have room for them so first things I need a cheap as possible house and run. Any ideas :?:     Also dont have much time to build one :?   Yes I am panicking now :oops:
Have sourced their food and other bits and bobs,  have researched and researched more, but will stick with muntys advice :)
My 3 yo  has decided they are all going to be called rosie :lol:  Guess it will save any confusion.

See if you can get a shed off freecycle or a poultry house off there. Cheap and quick ! If you can make a bit of time you could make one out of pallets that's cheap too.. Made my feed hopper out of a bucket and a large plant pot  , few bits of wire and a block of wood :wink:

scrounge whereever you can; are there any building sites near you? if so, chat nicely to one of th builders and you'll find they can be quite helpful with odd bits of wood etc, we started off with chainlink fencing cos we got given a load for free, and thwen gradually acquired chicken wire and went over it, it doesn't look wonderful, but it has a rustic charm,  :lol:  and the chooks love it!

Can't you get the house and/or run from your Auntie too?  Even just the wire might be worth salvaging.

She has them compleately free range in the day and her coop has just about had it.   They live in the middle of know where is aint a problem for her, but being on the outskirts of town here need something more secure, have stuck an add on freecycle am hopehul but not sure anything will come of it.
