hello not been on for ages :-(
« on: August 16, 2009, 10:12 »
since my last post feeling down about things i have not really done anything to my plot and was thinking of giving it up! well....... i went down yesterday and it is about as tall as me in weeds... i still have lots of veg inbetween it all carrots, spuds, beetroot, runner beens and somewhere are peas have not found them yet!!!! but after watching a film grow your own the other night it has made me want it more than ever lol so went with a friend and we acctually pulled alot of the weeds out. i think it just depresses me the thought of having to do it all in one go but if i spend an hour a day doing it. it will get there in no time so what can i plant now when i have cleared some of the plot???? and any other advice my dad said pull the big ones and the he will give me some round up to spary on the smaller ones!!!  :) will try and get some pics of it later

Sorry to hear about the weeds, they soon catch up with you don't they!  I think it's great that you are getting the plot sorted again.  You are right, you don't have to do it all at once and an hour a day would be great.

There are still lots of things that you can sow, lettuces, radishes, beetroot (maybe a bit late for big ones but you will probably get some small ones) then there are the winter veg like spring cabbages.  You can also buy plants online or from garden centres for overwintering like purple sprouting broccoli and spring greens.

Good luck and would love to see some pictures  :)
