Sunday Dinner
« on: August 09, 2009, 20:39 »
Yes another thread on dinner tonight!

Using up my first earlies, i tried Sarah Ravens roast crushed new potato with rosemary and garlic (all homegrown) Fantastic! Highly recommended.

Put it with roast beef, carrots (hg) and parsnips. And a bit of steamed mange tout (hg).

Top dinner.
Liv.

I've just had roast beef, roasted desirees, runner beans, french beans, carrots, sugar snap peas and greyhound cabbage.  I would never had cooked 5 different types of veg in one meal before I started growing it.  I can't stand the thought of wasting anything!!

Your meal sounds great Livvy, I've just had a roast chicken dinner tonight using Kestrel for the roast pots. They were just perfect (if I say so myself).
My worry is that when I run out of spuds (whatever variety), I'm going to have to buy supermarket watery ones again, what a come down.

ps. This is my first year of growing and didn't know these varieties were so much better.

You are good, cooking those vegs properly for yourself!     I think I'd better get my act together - you are an example to the bit of cheese / cant be bothered brigade like me.
