Yes I am not good with practical changes to the nest boxes either - just cant get my head around how to do it properly - when my OH gets around to doing it I will post a photo!  :lol:

and if i can work out mine i will post pics to , am looking at spending time in the run tomorw as i have an old door i want to put up as another shelter for them and i am still deciding on wether to move the small shed or not  :lol: i saw a small hen house on legs today an it was only £70 if and when i can make up my mind i will get that but it will only be used as a quanutine house for when one is sick an needs to be seprated .

I'm not very good at describing things Looby, but if these inserts fitted your nest boxes okay, what about cutting a bit of wood, only needs to be about 2inches thick and putting it underneath the back of the insert, just to get your slope?  then, if the nest boxes were in a line, laying or fixing a plank of wood along the bit at the front that collects the eggs to stop them pooping in it?

If it was hinged, you just lift it up when you get home and hopefully all your eggs are inside the collection bit?  As long as they are not all in the one box!!! :D

good thinking, am going to  wait until a neighbour is home from hoilday , hes a carpenter and hes going to get e odd bits of wood maybe he mite build them as well  :happy:
